"My paintings capture moments of my daily life, the places Ive been and the little things that catch my eye..."
I paint cityscapes/landscapes from spontaneous photos taken while driving. My still life paintings are simplistic, yet calculated, making the viewer appreciate everyday objects. These paintings are also a celebration of the medium. The idea is to make the viewer aware of the paint and my passion for it. With the help of a palette knife, I record my subjects with texture, color and conviction. French Impressionist and Post-Impressionist painters along with artists of the Bay Area Figurative movement have influenced my style. Some of my greatest influences include Wayne Thiebaud, Paul Cezanne, Richard Diebenkorn, Vincent Van Gogh, Robert Cottingham, Carolyn Meyer and Tai-Shan Schierenberg.
